C27  1864 Boy with Toy Gun

This boy of 8 or 9 years old may have had an older brother in the civil war. 15 per cent of the soldiers were boys. Some as young as 11 and 12 years old, over 300,000, fought with muskets and small arms. Only a few were telegraphers, played drums and bugles.
